Love and compassion imply duality.

Consciousness is second to none. In reality, there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness.

The ‘Self’ is not you, but the ‘Self is the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness. The love is based on you, and you are the false self with the dualistic illusion (world). 

Whatever happens within the dualistic illusion is bound to be an illusion. Love is possible only within the dualistic illusion 

You, your love, your compassion, and the world in which you exist are made of the same clay, that clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Love and compassion imply duality.  The love, compassion the world in which you exist cease to exist without consciousness.

Consciousness is prior to the world in which you exist. Consciousness is the cause of the world in which you exist and, it is uncaused. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

From the standpoint of the Soul, the Self, the world in which you exist is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.

The illusion has no value; whatever prevails without the illusion is the reality. All the human attributes such as love and compassion are a reality within the dualistic illusion.

There are millions in search of truth, but one in a million will be able to grasp it. The people who have taken the path of wisdom are one of those million.

Katha Upanishads: ~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Atman reveals Its own form. (II -23-P-20)

All the chosen ones will get freedom from experiencing the illusion (duality) as a reality. All the seekers of truth are chosen ones.
