Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana helps to a raft upon which one crosses a swift river to get to the other side of the dualistic illusion, once the shore beyond the form, time and space are reached; there is no longer any need to carry the raft because the Soul, the 'Self' remains in its own awareness.
In Self-awareness, the river and the person crossing the river itself are an illusion. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness alone, is real and all else is an illusion.
The scriptures and theories and teaching based on the ego are not a yardstick.
Using them as a yardstick to understand and assimilate the truth will lead one towards the pursuit of arguments.
Seeker of truth has to discover on his own, the truth of his true existence by inquiring “what is mind?” and “what is the substance of the mind?” “What is the source of the mind?” and move forward.
The ultimate truth is one without the second, the one is not in the sense half or two, but the one that remains forever One, without the second.
Consciousness is all-pervading. Consciousness is the cause of everything that exists as the universe. whatever exists as the universe is an illusion created out of consciousness.
Remember:~
Religious Gods are not God in truth. One must know what God su[[pse to be in truth.
That is why Sage Sankara says:~ 61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae) and medicines to such a one?
62. A disease does not leave off if one simply utters the name of the medicine, without taking it; (similarly) without direct realization one cannot be liberated by the mere utterance of the word Brahman.
The religion is based on personal God whereas Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman (God) is impersonal, Nirguna (without Gunas or attributes), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without special characteristics), immutable, eternal and Akarta (non-agent). God is above all needs and desires. God is always the Witnessing Subject. God can never become an object as God is beyond the reach of the senses. God is non-dual, one without a second. God has no other beside it. God is destitute of difference, either external or internal. God cannot be described because the description implies a distinction. God cannot be distinguished from any other than God. In God, there is not a distinction between substance and attribute. Sat-Chit-Ananda constituted the very essence or Svarupa of God, and not just God attributes. The Nirguna Brahman of Sage Sankara is impersonal.
The Vedas confirm God is Atman (Spirit), the Self.
Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)
Rig-Veda 1-164-46 and Y.V 32-1 clearly mention that God is “One”.
Rig Veda declares God is ‘ONE’ and God is Atman, then why to believe and worship in place of real God.
Rig Veda: ~ 'Prajnanam Brahma'- Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.
Do not accept any other God other than the Soul. The Soul is God in truth, Nothing is real but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Nothing matters but realize God in truth. God in truth is everywhere and in everything. Let these words be inscribed in your subconscious.
God in truth is hidden by the illusory universe. God in truth alone is real and eternal and all else is an illusion.:
Brahman is merely a word to indicate the ultimate truth or God in truth. The ultimate truth itself is God in truth.
Remember:~
A Gnani is not opposed to God, he is not an atheist, but he wants God free from Gods based on blind faith or blind belief.
A Gnani does not say God is not there, God is, but not as one imagines God. God is above all imaginations. God exists as truth. Hence, in the path of wisdom do not use the word, God. It will be misunderstood. Thus, Brahman, which means the ultimate truth, is the right word. for the practical purpose of the word, God is helpful to convince the common people who are seeking the truth.
No guru or yogi teaches what I share with fellow seekers because they preach the cocktail of different ideologies, theories, religions, and philosophies.
Advaitic Truth is very simple. It is very difficult to realize because it is lost in the dualistic knowledge we inherited, collected from different sources, different masters’ different gurus, different philosophies, different ideologies, different books, and scriptures. All this accumulated knowledge is a mere hill of garbage.
Nothing is needed other than realizing the knowledge of the single stuff. The single stuff is the cause of the world in which we exist. And that single stuff itself is causeless. That single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
The Soul is theSelf. Knowledge of the Soul, the innermost Self, is Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Atma Gnana is knowledge of God. Realizing God in this very life is your goal. God-realization is real worship.: ~Santthosh Kumaar
