Ishopanishad:~"They are steeped in ignorance and sunk into the greatest depth of misery who worships the matter, instead of the All-Pervading Spirit (God).+

Ishopanishad:~"They are steeped in ignorance and sunk into the greatest depth of misery who worship matter, instead of the All-Pervading Spirit (God in truth), and those who worship things born of matter like trees, animals, man, etc., are sunk deeper in misery."

ISH Upanishads: - By worshipping gods and goddesses, you will go after death to the world of gods and goddesses. But will that help you? The time you spend is wasted because if you were not there, you could have spent that time moving forward toward Self-knowledge, which is your goal. In the world of gods and goddesses, you cannot do that, and thus, you go deeper and deeper into darkness.

Ish Upanishad:~ Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide> ~10/11/12

It indicates that if the human goal is to acquire Self, then why indulge in rituals and glorify the conceptual gods, goddesses, and gurus to go into deeper darkness? Instead, spend that time moving forward towards Self-knowledge, which is one’s prime goal.

Ignorance is the cause of experiencing the universe, which is a dualistic illusion or Maya as reality. The seeker has to get rid of ignorance to acquire Self-knowledge or Knowledge of God in truth.

Religious Samaskara or conditioning and believing, and worshipping Gods and Goddesses based on blind belief, hinder God-realization.

By worshipping gods and goddesses, you will permanently remain in ignorance, believing the universe, which is the dualistic illusion or Maya, as a reality.

Worshipping Gods and Goddesses will help you to realize the Self hidden by the dualistic illusion or Maya. The time you spend there is wasted. You could have spent that time moving forward towards Self-knowledge, which is your goal.

Worshipping Gods and Goddesses, you will permanently remain in ignorance. deeper and deeper into darkness.

That is why Sage  Sankara says:~ VC- 65- As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it, and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman.

66. Therefore, the wise should personally strive by using their power of reason to be free from the bondage of ignorance.

Getting rid of ignorance is necessary to know and realize what the truth is and what is an untruth.:~Santthosh Kumaar
