Sage Goudapad:~Duality is for the unwise; non-duality and undifferentiated Reality is for the wise and difficult to grasp.
Advaita is a straight path. Discussion and argument create roadblocks.
Reading, reflecting, and reasoning will help the seeker grasp the non-dualistic truth hidden by ignorance.
Your accumulated knowledge is dualistic, therefore, it cannot be used as a yardstick.
Logic is dualistic. Logic has no value to realize nondualistic truth.
Upanishads:~ Fools dwelling in darkness, but thinking they wise and erudite, go round and round, by various tortuous paths, like the blind led by the blind. (Upanishads Nikilanada - Ch II-5 P-14)
You, along with all the thoughts and words and the world in which you exist, are nothing but an illusion created out of a single clay. That single clay is consciousness. When you reduce yourself along with your thoughts, the world, and the world in which you exist into a single clay, the truth hidden by ignorance is grained.
Manduka Upanishads shows how one opinion may be used to contradict another, so that both may be thrown away. Opinions are not for seeking the truth.
Ashtavakra says:~ Opinions are merely thought, not the truth.
Manduka Upanishad is not meant for all, as it is based entirely on reasoning. Hence, only a few will be able to understand and assimilate it.
Sage Sankara says the transparent truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman (Gnani).
First, know what is the truth and what is untruth. Without realizing what untruth truth is, it is difficult to know what truth is.
Manduka Upanishad shows how one opinion may be used to contradict another, so that both may be thrown away. Opinions are not for philosophy; they are as Ashtavakra says, merely thoughts; it wants the truth.
The essential message of Manduka Upanishad:~ "From their notion": Everybody has his own imagination about facts and starts from that, instead of discarding his personal idea and looking at the fact. Page 333. V. 83
Sage Sankara:~ VC Let erudite scholars quote all the scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the Self, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together (verses-6)
Then why waste time discussing, which yields no fruits. The citations from scriptures are not proof. The ultimate truth has to be proven without the scriptures. The ultimate truth is the universal truth, and it does not belong to any religion. Religion causes diversity in unity, whereas the ultimate truth brings unity in diversity. :~Santthosh Kumaar
