Do not be carried away by gurus standing nor by the attitude of authority which they adopt in speaking to you. It has no value.
These Gurus illustrate the ‘I know’ attitude adopted because their mentor guru told them so, both of them not knowing really.
These Gurus are certainly brilliant intellectually in their other spheres, such as history, but remember the truth that most of these men keep the quest for truth in watertight compartments apart from the other sections of their brain. They apply reason admirably to their profession or business, but drop it and use feeling or emotion only when trying to philosophize.
People magnify every minor coincidence or every petty fact where Gurus or Godmen were concerned, and they see miraculous or esoteric significance therein.
Bhagavan Buddha: ~ ‘ Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders
The scriptures are saying the truth which is beyond the religion. There is no need to study scriptures or follow religion.
The path of truth is the path of verification. Nothing has to be accepted as truth without verification.
Scriptures are being added to from time to time. This process will go on. There is the final authority among them? One contradicts the other: duality reigns supreme.
The Upanishads are self-contradictory. Every pundit even gives conflicting interpretations of them. The final authority, therefore, is using one’s own own reason. One should apply his reason to them.
The scriptures are for the ignorant masses, who wholly accept the material world as it presents itself. Gnana is for those who have begun to realize that things are not what they seem.
The Scriptures are of value only when dealing with persons who are incapable of understanding the truth. They have no value as authority for those who use reason.
I quote only the verified citation from the scriptures. I need no scriptures, but I quote them to help the seekers realize the scriptures are saying
The Upanishads say: ~ It is impossible to find and realize the truth via religion and scriptural study.
Katha Upanishad: ~ This Atman cannot be attained by the study of the Vedas, or by intelligence, or by much hearing of sacred books. It is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one The Soul reveals its own form. (Katha Upanishad Ch-II -23-P-20)
Mundaka Upanishad: ~ This Atman cannot be attained through the study of the Vedas, nor through intelligence, nor through much learning. He who chooses Atman—by him alone is Atman attained. It is the Atman that reveals to the seeker Its true nature. (3 –page-70~ Upanishads by Nikilanada)
When the Upanishad says: that the human goal is to acquire ‘Self’-Knowledge and they indicate the personal Gods, scriptures, worship, and rituals are not the means to ‘Self’ –Knowledge, then why anyone should indulge in it.
Neither by the practice of yoga nor philosophy, nor by good works nor by learning, does liberation come, but only through the realization, that the world in which we exist is created out of a single stuff. And that single stuff is consciousness, which leads to the realization of the truth beyond form, time, and space.
To establish the truth of Non-duality by sheer reasoning alone. He begins by defining "What is real?" "What is unreal?" etc, because that is the right way to understand and assimilate the Advaitic truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.
The reasoning is interpretable in two ways. The egocentric interpretation is to apply it only to the waking experience.
The Soulcentric interpretation is to apply it to the three states. The latter leads to the final settlement of the problems because it takes all data into consideration.
As we keep digging deeper and deeper, the truth will shine as pure awareness in the midst of the duality (waking).
The Soul the Self, is our ultimate teacher. It is only our inner teacher that will walk with us to the goal, for the Soul is the goal. From the ultimate standpoint, there is no teacher, there is no teaching and there is no student.
Millions are searching for the truth, but one in a million will realize it. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
